So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:

Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is dried out. For freshly painted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may nevertheless need to settle and completely dry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile as long as the surface is clean and completely free of moisture during application. Make certain the design element does not cover grout area as water could leak under and damage the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are positioned tightly onto the surface so water is unable to reach under the sticker. Once applied, RoomMates will not shift even if sprayed by shower.


Vinyl wall decals shouldn't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they must not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and destroy the merchandise. Also, do not place at the base or inside the tub. Water could filter under the wall decal too easily and would damage the adhesive. When using, make sure you start from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the other parts of the element separate from the wall/surface. Slowly go down over the design with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once put on you ought to be able to shift any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the difficulty persists (this would solely happen with the giant decals), you can punch a tiny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.

In all, it will always be best to test wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is uneven, operation could be significantly reduced. Make certain surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and damage the merchandise.
